Seahive is a true expression of the flavors of Utah. Sweet and creamy, we rub the rind of this Utah cheddar with local wildflower honey and ancient salt. Yes, ancient salt. Our salt is harvested from a pristine ocean deposit in Redmond, Utah. This gives Seahive its signature pinkish hue.
Sweet and creamy. The honey on the rind elevates its inherent sweetness without becoming cloyingly sweet.
Vegetarian rennet, cow's milk, all ingredients rubbed on the rind are organic, this is a gluten-friendly product
Seahive isn’t just about honey and salt—it’s about partnership, place, and the unexpected magic of aging.
We source our raw, unfiltered honey from Slide Ridge Honey, a local producer that keeps a portion of its bees on Beehive Cheese’s undeveloped land in Morgan County, Utah. This connection to the land makes Seahive truly local, with flavors shaped by the very environment where our cheese ages.
But the real surprise happens on the rind. When the honey and salt interact over time, the honey undergoes acidification. Instead of leaving a sweet finish, the sugars transform into acids, creating a tangy, complex flavor that challenges expectations.
At Beehive Cheese, we love pushing boundaries—and Seahive is proof that sometimes, the best flavors come from the unexpected.
The salt is from Redmond Real Salt, a local salt producer who mines from the ancient salt beds located in Redmond, UT.
My local Publix deli recently started carrying Beehive cheese and had a BOGO sale so I bought one wedge each of Promontory and Seahive. I tried the Promontory first and was impressed, would recommend it. But just now I tried the Seahive and holy smokes! I absolutely loved it; it's similar to Kerrygold's Dubliner but not grainy. It's nutty and creamy, with a bit of sweetness and saltiness that makes it instantly addictive; I had to restrain myself from eating the entire wedge in one go. I'll definitely be trying all the varieties I can find.
Molto Delisioso!
My friend bought some of your cheese for a party. OMG! I enjoyed it so much and had to get more.
My local Smiths had this on sale yesterday and I was eager to try it. Unfortunately the flavor was ruined by cling wrap aftertaste. I am guessing this was portioned out at the store and not the fault of the folks in Utah but you guys need to educate the middle men between us and your product
It is the best I’ve ever eaten. The packaging for shipping was excellent and the cheese came in perfect condition.
