Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping/Order Fulfillment

How much does shipping cost?

Orders totaling over $75 ship for free. Orders under $75 ship for $14.99 per shipment.

Why do you charge shipping, it’s free everywhere else?

Cheese is perishable and requires heavy ice packs. This increases the cost to ship product across the country. We still want our individual cuts of cheeses to be available online, and in order to do that, we need to charge a little for shipping.

What carrier does Beehive use?

99% of the time we use UPS, and sometimes we use USPS.

Can you deliver to a P.O. Box?

No.

Can you ship out of the U.S.?

No. Cheese is an agricultural product and cannot be shipped in the mail outside the U.S.

Can I ship to an American Military Base?

No. Transit takes too long for our perishable product and we cannot get it there safely.

Do you ship to Hawaii?

Yes, we do.

Can I select my date of delivery?

At this time, no. Our current fulfillment system will not allow this.

Can I ship to multiple addresses in one order?

No. Each individual destination must have its own transaction.

When will my order ship?

Our cheese needs to be kept reasonably cool during transit. We can only ship cheese Monday through Wednesday. If we ship on Thursday or Friday, your cheese will spend the weekend in a non-temperature controlled warehouse.

I ordered using Overnight service, why didn’t my cheese get there the next day?

Your order will need to be placed by 9am MST Monday-Thursday in order for your package to ship and arrive the following day.

We can only ship via overnight Monday-Thursday. If you order on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, your cheese will not ship until Monday to arrive on Tuesday.

My ice packs are a little melted, is my cheese ok?

Most likely. Our cheese ages for months at 55 degrees. It’s a pretty stable product, but shouldn’t spend too much time out of temp. If the cheese feels cool to the touch and has no oil inside the package, your cheese is just fine.

Who do I contact if there’s a problem with my order?

Email hello@beehivecheese.com with your order number and issue. Calls will be answered Monday through Thursday 9am to 4pm MST and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. Please see our refund policy here.

Cheese Care

How do I store my cheese?

Your cheese hates air. Be sure to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, a zippy, or wax paper inside an airtight container.

How long will my cheese last?

In the original packaging, your cheese will keep aging and last for 3-12 months. If there’s no mold present, you’re good to eat it. Once you open the original packaging, your cheese will last up to two weeks if kept wrapped tightly.

Can I freeze cheese?

No! Do not freeze cheese. In the original packaging, your cheese will keep aging and last for 3-12 months.

Do you pasteurize your milk?

Yes.

Are there antibiotics in your milk source?

There are no ingredients used within our creamery that contain wheat. While our cheese is not certified “gluten free”, we do not use ingredients that contain gluten in our cheese or in our rubs.
