Beehive Cheese Wins 2nd Blue Ribbon - IMPA PDF Print E-mail

Beehive Cheese Company of Ogden, UT wins First Place in the Aged Cheddar category with Promontory  for the second straight year and Promontory with Rosemary placed 3rd in the flavored category. The contest winners were announced on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 at the Wine and Cheese social at the Idaho Milk Processors Association annual meeting and competition. The Blue Ribbon Promontory Cheddar was auctioned later in the evening for $900.

 

“It is an honor for Promontory to be recognized as best in class for the second straight year by the IMPA. This cheese is the base for all of our other cheese and the affirmation motivates us to continue making quality and unique cheeses” said Tim Welsh of Beehive Cheese Company.

This year marks the 14th annual cheese competition and the 82nd annual meeting of the Idaho Milk Producers Association. The Association and competition encompasses milk producers from 6 Western states including Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Washington and Oregon.
